Dave Tamkus
Graphic Design
Dave is the owner of Tamkus Art & Design, specializing in freelance art/graphic design, based out of Shamokin, PA. He has a degree in Graphic Design from Marywood University. Over the course of his career he has been the production manager of an offset print shop, creative services manager for advertising in a grocery chain, and in sales.
Over his freelance career he has designed logos, mailers, billboards, business cards, signs, pamphlets, & booklets for clients. He’s also dabbled in hand-painted signs. Dave is always up for a challenge in solving a creative dilemma, so feel free to test him out!

Kraken Chalk Art
This was created for a live chalk drawing competition in the fall of 2019. It was created in 5 hours and ended up taking home first prize. At the time, it was the largest piece of art that I ever created.
Barber Shop Mural
This was created early 2020. It was the first time I used chalk markers and was the biggest thing that I created to date. It took about 3 hours to create, and there is a pretty sweet video to see the making of on my website.
Clarks Feed Mill Painting
This was a fun lettering project painted directly on the wall. It was the first time I worked with gold leaf paint. It really encapsulates the high-end feel of the place.

This stands to be the largest thing that I ever painted. Clocking in at approximately 1,500 square feet, it took me about 50 hours to repaint the logo on the side of the building.
Eight Street Entertainment Logo
This was a logo for 2 businesses in Shamokin. I just like the color and the simple, bold look.
Glove Stories Logo
This may be the logo with the widest reach. I partnered with Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation to create a logo for a podcast that is also syndicated on radio. The glove stories loom large over the city of Philadelphia.
Hazleton Art League
I really love the way this logo turned out. It features the art leagues iconic building, and has a sleek, modern design that leans in on the tools of an artist.
